Slimming World Update #3

Week 8
A really good week this week. Have managed to stick to plan pretty much all week. I am really enjoying going to group. It's just a good excuse to get out the house for an hour or so and have a cuppa and a chat. 2.5lb off this week. Total weight loss stands a 12lb.

Week 9

A bad week this week which has shown with a 1.5lb gain. I know exactly where i have been going wrong. Skipping breakfast then picking all morning because I'm starving! I also had a day out at the football over the weekend which meant a few beers and my food for the day was a Greggs pastie and a subway! I fully expected the gain so I'm ok with it and need to put it behind me and move on. I am going to be extra good this next week and aim for a 3.5lb loss, maybe a bit ambitious as this would be my biggest loss yet but it will take me down to a total weight loss of a stone.

Weight loss now stands at 10.5lb

I didn't write down what i have been eating over the last few weeks but i am going to do a full food diary next time round.

Slimming World Update #2

Week 6
Had a really bad week this week. I just felt like eating everything in sight! I stopped myself for the most part but i did have a few naughty treats and i was eating no where near enough fruit and veg. We also had a meal out on the Sunday. I think my main struggle was the fact that i no longer had to fill in a food diary, as my first four weeks were up. If your not writing it down it doesn't count right?! So I have been and bought myself a note book so i can keep track of everything again. Luckily the results on the scales weren't as bad as i thought. I gained 1lb but i expected much more so i was pleased with that. Total weight loss stands at 7.5lb

Week 7

Another quite bad week. I was doing well up until Thursday when i had a massive urge to eat Chocolate. Anyone that knows me will know i am not a Chocolate person at all, i much prefer savoury food and i tend to avoid chocolate as it makes me break out! I should of known then that i was going to get ill as that is the only time i really want chocolate. On my mission for chocolate i did discover the new Galaxy Salted Carmel bar! AMAZING! I love anything salted caramel. As mentioned i got ill over the weekend and have been feeling pretty miserable and still am. I have managed to avoid comfort food though, mainly because i can't taste anything and i have no appetite whatsoever. A weight loss of 2lb this week. Very happy with that. Total weight loss 9.5lb
For the next two week I am going to keep a food diary so you have an idea of what I have been eating! I will be back to update you all in two weeks time where I am hoping I will have reached the 1 stone mark!

Korres Pomegranate Cleansing Mask Review

I think I have finally found it. A holy grail mask. I have tried so many masks and although most have been nice, i have never found one that does exactly what i want it to do.
I suffer from dry skin and will occasionally get a bit more oily in the summer. As well as suffering with dry skin i also have a lot of blackheads and open pores on and around my nose. This is what i hate the most about my skin. Although i have found my perfect moisturising mask, I am always searching for something that is going to get rid of open pores/blackheads. I have tried so many masks and pore strips, some work ever so slightly, most make no difference at all and some just clog my pores and make them look even worse!

So when i picked up this Korres Pomegranate Cleansing Mask i wasn't expecting too much from it. However i was massively surprised. I applied this just before getting in the bath and left it on for around 10-15 minutes. When i washed it off and went and looked in the mirror i couldn't believe it. My blackheads had shrunk and although they were still there, you wouldn't notice unless you were really close up and my open pores had pretty much disappeared.  I am so impressed. The only problem i have with it is the size. You only get 16ml which isn't really a lot. Maybe 3-4 uses. Although i have just found that they do a 40ml size but it appears to be sold out everywhere. I have already purchased another 2 of these masks. The 16ml costs £7.00.
They state this mask is for oily/combination skin. It does dry my skin but i just make sure i follow it with a good moisturiser.

Here is what Korres says about the product. The Pomegranate extract is a rich source of tannins, anthocyanins, vitamins (A, C, E) and minerals and is widely used for its antioxidant properties. The pomegranate fruit contains three times the antioxidant properties of red wine or green tea. This high level of antioxidants found in pomegranate is effective in combating free radicals that cause premature ageing of skin cells. Pomegranate extract has also significant astringent properties, due to the contained tannins. As a result, it tightens the pores and strengthens the skin epidermis, thus being ideal for oily and combination skin.
I definitely recommend picking one of these up if you can. Have you already tried it? What did you make of it? Can you recommend any other good pore/blackhead minimizing masks?

International Beauty Swap #1 - South Africa - Part One

I am super excited to be writing this post. My first ever international box swap. This swap was with the beautiful Rayne from makeitraynex. Rayne is from South Africa and she agreed to do a swap with me after i contacted her on twitter. You can find her on Twitter @raynealexa.
Rayne has well and truly spoiled me and i am so happy and grateful for what she has sent me. Missing from this post is all the snacks she sent me as they have all been eaten!! Also missing is a MAC lipstick. South Africa are having major problems with their post at the moment and she had ordered the lipstick to be delivered to her house and it never arrived, so she is sending that separately.
I never really asked for anything specific and told her i would like to be surprised. The only thing i mentioned i would like were some Inglot eyeshadows and a MAC lipstick. Here is what she kindly sent me. I'm not going to put here what i think of the products other than everything i have tried i love. Just i haven't had chance to try it all yet and this post would be super long! I will do separate reviews of some of the products.

April 2015 Favourites

I haven't done a favourites for ages so thought i would post one this month as there is quite a few things i have been loving this month.
Illamasqua Buff and Avon Ultra Glazewear Iced Pink
This is my favourite lip combo and has been for quite some time now. I don't wear this unless i have a tan as it can make me look quite washed out with it being so dark. Its my go to 'night out' lip and its usually paired with a dark smokey eye. I usually hate lipgloss but i love these Avon ones as there is no stickiness to them at all. Illamasqua lipsticks are probably my favourite high end lipstick out of all the ones i have tried and i own around 10-15 of them.
Make Up Revolution Iconic 3 Palette
The perfect dupe for the Naked 3 palette. I have been using it every day since i got it from Superdrug (you can find my haul here.) The payoff is amazing and the shades are beautiful. They also last well on the lid. They do have some fallout but nothing major. I picked this up to give the colours a try out before i decided on whether to pick up the Naked 3 palette. It's safe to say i will definitely be making that purchase.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara

I'm a bit late to the bandwagon on this one. I got this a few weeks ago now and i tried it as soon as it arrived and i was massively disappointed. In fact i honestly thought it was one of the worst mascaras i had ever tried! It didn't make hardly any difference to my lashes, it crumbled within an hour and was all over my face! However i decided to pull it out about a week later to give it another try, fully expecting it to be a mess again but i couldn't believe it when it turned out to be one of the nicest mascaras i have used in a long time. Whether temperature changes etc had affected it while it was being delivered to me or something i don't know. It gives the most amazing fluttery lashes and doesn't crumble at all. It is also great to remove. I will without a doubt be heading to get the full size.

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in 004 Forever Pink

I love all the Infallible eyeshadows and i have quite a collection of them but this has definitely been a firm favourite this month. I have been really into my pink smokey eyes lately and this is just a gorgeous colour. The pigmentation is amazing and they last amazingly too.

Make Up Revolution Pigment In Confront

Another pink eye product. This pigment is the most gorgeous colour. Super easy to apply, just watch for the fallout. I have used this both wet and dry, it looks amazing either way.

Beauty UK High Brow All In One Brow Definition Kit

This is a rediscovery for me. I have had this kit for ages, in fact i think it may be one of the first brow products i ever bought. I have been using pencil for so long now but recently pulled this out of the back of my drawer. I have been using it every day since. the colours are just perfect and i can create many different brow looks with this. If i want a soft brow i use the lightest shade on its own, a slightly bolder brow by mixing the lightest and middle shade together and a really bold brow by using the medium shade on its own.

Original Source Coconut Shower Gel
I wouldn't normally rave about a shower gel really but this one is amazing. It leaves your skin feeling silky smooth and it smells amazing! The smell lingers on the skin too which i love. This is my second bottle of this and i never repurchase the same shower gel!
Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Cleanser
I have been really trying to up my skincare lately as i have been having a few breakouts lately but my skin has also been that dry it has literally been peeling off my face. Luckily it seems to have calmed down a bit now! This product is great and one i have been using for a while now. It contains Glycolic acid to gently exfoliate, Apple Amino Acid to cleanse and Olive Oil to hydrate the skin. I use this mainly at night after removing my make up. I will sometimes use it in the morning but i usually use the  Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish to cleanse my face in a morning.

Yankee Candle Aloe Water

This candle is from the new spring range by Yankee Candle. It smells amazing. I already have a back up for when this one runs out. It has a really refreshing smell and i think it has a slight hint of watermelon. I am a huge Yankee Candle fan and have a lot of the different scents. This is up there in my top 3.

That's all for my favourites this month. What have you been loving?
