Glossybox August 2014

Everyone knows how hit and miss Glossybox can be, this month is definitely a hit! This months box was for Glossybox's 3rd anniversary. This is my favorite Glossybox i have received so far, it's as if this box was made for me!

First up is one of my all time favourite products, Phillip Kingsley Elasticizer. I use this product often so it was nice to see this included as I run out a while ago and haven't got round to getting any more yet. I usually put this on when I get up in the morning if I know im going in the shower and it usually gets left on for a couple of hours. I just wet my hands and run them through my hair to dampen it before applying the product through my hair. It leaves hair feeling amazing and so much stronger from first use. It is a must for me, as it helps to prevent split ends and puts moisture back into your hair. It is expensive with prices starting at £15.00 for 75ml, but it is so worth it!

I love a good highlighter and the Kryolan Highlighter in Cashmere is stunning! This has been placed in lovely Glossybox packaging but is just Kryolan Illusion. It is a cream highlighter and gives the most amazing glow when applied to the skin. This is a full size product worth £12.95.

Figs & Rouge Mini Hand Cream is probably the only product I am not all that pleased about. As I have mentioned previously I need to be careful what products i use on my hands, although this hasn't caused me any issues it is likely to just get put in my sample draw as I have many other hand creams to use. I may take it on holiday with me though due to it's compact size. This is a 20ml sample and for a full size 80ml product it is £6.95.

Yves Rocher Nail Polish is the birthday bonus item included in every box this month. This is a full size product but at just 3ml is the smallest nail polish I have ever seen. Cute! It is a gorgeous baby pink colour which I am pleased about as I don't actually think I have any light pinks as mine are all brights. Will be giving this a try next time I paint my nails. This product is worth £3.60.

Some people may not be happy with perfume samples but it is something I enjoy getting, especially with a couple of holidays coming up I'm looking for a few more perfumes to add to my collection. The fragrance included is Lalique L'Amour. It is a soft sensual fragrance which has notes of rosebuds, fresh bergamot, white floral and musk. I love the smell of this perfume but at £67.00 for 50ml it's an expensive one.

The last product is probably my second favourite after the Elasticizer and it is Essence Longlasting Lipstick. I got the shade Natural Beauty and it is my perfect colour. I love the shade of this as it is my go to everyday shade. It is definitely a my lips but better kind of colour. It was nice to apply and didn't feel drying in the lips. This was a full size lipstick worth £2.29.

Hugely impressed with this months box. Did you receive anything different to what I got? What did you make of this months box?

Pamper Night Routine

A Wednesday night is pamper night for me. It's the night where there is nothing worth watching on the tele so I make the most of it and chill in the bath. Here is what my pamper night consists of.

I usually start by removing my nail polish first off. I do my fingers every week and my toes every other week unless i am wanting a specific colour then i may change sooner.

I then head up stairs light a couple of candles, my favorites are Yankee Candles and at the moment i am burning Lemon Lavender and Darling Clementine and start running the bath. While the bath is running i remove my make up and apply a face mask. The weather has changed here in the UK and it is back to being cold and miserable :( I have even had my heating on the last two days!! The cold weather means my skin has taken a turn for the worst and developed lots of dry patches so at the moment i am using a hydrating mask and my favorite one is the Nspa Replenishing Moisture Mask

I then hop in the bath and just relax for 5 minutes. I will then shave my legs, have a wash and exfoliate my skin using my favorite Soap And Glory Breakfast Smoothie Scrub. I also give my feet a mini pedicure to remove any dry skin. Once i finish in the bath i get out and remove my face mask. I then get dried apply some moisturiser or a body butter and stick my pj's on.

Then its back downstairs where i will apply my nail polish. My favorites over the summer have been Barry M Gelly Nails in Papaya and Models Own in Bubblegum.

What is your pamper night routine?

Life and Weight Loss Update

You may have noticed i haven't really posted much over the last few weeks. It is the summer school holidays here in England which means i have both my boys at home. I usually write all my blog posts while my youngest naps but with it being the holidays i have my oldest to entertain, so i am really struggling to find to to write my blog posts.

I also haven't updated on my weight loss journey for a while, that is because i have failed to stick to my diet at all lately. It was my birthday last month and my parents had my children for the weekend before. So me and my partner went out for meals and a few drinks over that weekend, so i decided to take a weekend off but having no willpower means a weekend off soon turned into a week off, then two weeks etc etc.

Luckily i have maintained my weight and not put any back on during this time. With 47 days until i fly on holiday i am getting back to it in the hope i can lose at least another stone by then. I have been back to it a few days now and have managed to drop 2lb so fingers crossed i can lose my stone.

I have also been missing the gym for the last couple of weeks due to my partner working late. I have no excuse really as he gets home around 8 and the gym doesn't close until 10 so i really need to stop making excuses and get back to it!

As i have mentioned a few times i am off to Benidorm with a friend for 4 nights in September but we have now decided to book a family holiday for the beginning of October. I will arrive back from Benidorm on the 25th September and could be flying away again as early as the 30th September. I could definitely get used to that! We are looking at either Lanzarote or Fuertaventura, if you have been let me know in the comments what you thought!

Have you had any holidays lately? Or are you jetting off somewhere nice soon?

Watch out for my case packing posts soon!

Bella & Bear Hair She Goes Review

When i received the Bella & Bear Hair She Goes Hair Remover Kit* i was super excited to try it, it is not like anything i had ever used before. I am not a hairy person and apart from getting my brows waxed have never needed to remove any other facial hair. I do however have hairs on my upper lip and although they are that fine and light you cannot see them unless you look really closely, sometimes when wearing certain foundations it can cling to the hair.

It takes a bit of getting used to the movement needed for it to be effective but once you get the hang of it, its really easy. It don't think it hurts at all, it is a strange sensation and feels very much like threading does, although some people may find it hurts depending on your pain threshold.

You receive a facial epilator and a pair of tweezers in the set and they come in the most gorgeous bright coral colour which i love. To use the product you bend it in two then hold it up to your face, you then twist the handles and move it up slightly while keeping it against your skin. The tightly coiled springs then pull the hair out from the root.

The tweezers that come with it have a slanted tip so great for getting that stubborn hair that doesn't want to budge. These have gone straight in my travel beauty bag.

You can purchase this item from Amazon for £17.99 this is reduced from £36.00

I have not had chance to take my own photos as my camera has decided to stop working, the photo included is the company's photo.

Nougat London Review

The lovely people over at Nougat London sent me a couple of products from their new naturals range to test and review for you all. They are also kindly offering my readers 20% off on their website throughout the month of August.

The first thing i want to mention is the packaging, i think it is beautiful. It is mainly white and black with just a pop of colour which i think looks really classy.

Nougat Naturals is a natural range of bath and body products that contain essential oils and nourishing ingredients. They have come up with two different blends, Uplifting and Reviving and Calming and Relaxing.

Uplifting and Reviving- contains ten essential oils, these are Grapefruit, Bergamot, Cederwood, Lemon Myrtle, Petitgrain, Orange, May Chang, Magnolia and Corriander.

Calming and Relaxing- contains eleven essential oils, these are Pamlarosa, Jasmine, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Benzion Resinoid, Clary Sage, Rose Geranium, Lavender, Mandarin, Ylang Ylang and Roman Chamomile.

Refining Body Scrub - Calming & Relaxing £18.00*
This body scrub is amazing! I love a good body scrub and this one definitely impressed me. It felt super gentle on the skin and was not at all scratchy like some scrubs can be. I wasn't sure on this while first trying as i like my really scratchy scrubs but when i jumped out the shower my skin felt amazing and soft. This contains exfoliating particles of Walnut Shell and the gel formula which is derived from coconut oil foams up really nicely. It also contains extracts of Basil, Cucumber and Green Tea to sooth and soften the skin and the Green Tea is full of antioxidants to help stop the deterioration of collagen in the skin. You can definitely smell the lavender in it although it is not too overpowering and has a really nice smell. This is a product i will repurchase in the future. I will probably use this in between using my main scrub. It would be gentle enough for everyday use.
You can find this scrub here.

Nourishing Hand Cream - Uplifting and Reviving £14.00*
I have to be careful with using hand creams as i suffer with dermatitis, so the fact that this contains all natural ingredients is great for me. It leaves my hands feeling super soft even after the first use. The smell of this is a gorgeous citrus scent. It is a nice thin consistency so absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn't leave your hands feeling oily or slimy. This hand cream contains Sweet Almond oil, Borage Oil, Shea Butter and Glycerine to repair and hydrate skin. It also contains extracts of Seaweed and Cucumber which help to improve the elasticity of your skin. I don't often use a hand cream but the smell of this alone has kept me using it over and over again and my hands are feeling the best they have in a long time. This is a product i would recommend for everyone.
You can find the hand cream here.

This being the first time i have tried any products from Nougat London i am super impressed and will definitely look at trying some of their other products.

There is a 20% off code for you all to use on the website. Just enter the code B3UTY20 at the checkout. This code is valid until the end of August 2014 and is valid for one use per customer.

You can find Nougat London-

My Gym Routine

I want to start off by saying that i am in no way experienced in the gym. I'm not a personal trainer or anything i just enjoy going to the gym. I never used to believe anyone when they told me once you start going to the gym that you will enjoy it and it will become addictive but it's true. I have gone from someone who used to complain about having to walk to the shop to someone who works out 3-4 sometimes even 5 times a week.

As those of you who read my blog will know i am currently dieting and trying to lose weight, so a lot of what i am doing currently is cardio. This is just a basic overview of what my gym routine is and what i do while i am there.

Monday - Day off
Tuesday - 45 minutes of Zumba followed by 15 minutes on the treadmill and some weight training
Wednesday - Half hour Spinning class
Thursday- Day Off
Friday - In the gym
Saturday - Either 45 minutes of Zumba or just in the gym
Sunday - Day off

When i am in the gym my routine goes something like this:

30 minutes on the treadmill
15 minutes on the cross trainer
15 minutes on the rowing machine

I will often change the treadmill and cross trainer over to vary my workout slightly

I will then head onto the weights machines, i usually work on my abs/stomach and arms the most as these are what needs toning the most.

To finish off i usually do 5 - 10 minutes on the Vibroplates

What are your favorite things to do in the gym?

Glossybox July 2014

I'm a bit late with this months Glossybox review but that means I've had time to give the products a try. The theme of the box this month is Stars and Stripes and includes all American brands. I was really impressed with this months box compared to the last few. With 5 full size products this box is really great value for money.

Everyone this month received a Bellapierre Cosmetics Ltd Mineral Lipstick. I got the shade Ruby. This feels super moisturising on the lips and is really highly pigmented. This product costs £20.00. This is only the second product I have tried from Bellapierre but Iam definitely  interested in trying some more from them.
Next up is from a brand called ABSOLUTE New York and is their Perfecting Eyeshadow Primer. This is the only product I haven't tried out properly yet but it seems nice when given a try on my hand. It states that this can be used alone to neutralise any redness and brighten eyes or used under eyeshadow to prolong colour and stop creasing. This product costs $4.99.
This is the product I was least impressed about (only because I'm super jealous of the people that received the Tarte Lights Camera Lashes Mascara) however after trying this I really like it. It is the Mary Kay  Cosmetics Lash Love Mascara. I love the brush on this and have found this is the best type of brush for me to use. I have major problems with my short, sparse lashes but this actually made a diffrence to the appearance of them. It will certainly be getting added to my stash of mascaras I use often. This product costs £16.00.

Next up is a product everyone will have heard of and most probably tried and that is Carmex Lip Balm. I have used this in the past and really liked it, although I am more of a Vaseline girl. This has gone straight in my handbag and is the one I have been reaching for during the day. This costs £2.69.

Last is a product that I really didn't think I would like but actually do. Broadway Nails imPRESS On Manicure. Now I'm not usually a fan of press on nails but when I tried these I was really impressed with how well they stuck and how nice they looked. I am looking forward to wearing these for my girls night out on Friday. Cost of these is £7.99 a pack.

Super impressed with this months box. Good mix of brands and great value for money.
What did you recive in your Glossybox?
