Would You Rather? Beauty Blogger Tag

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
Probably my palettes and shadows. I can easily create a look without shadow. Not so much without the other products.
2. Would you rather chop all of your hair off or never be able to cut it again?
Never be able to cut it again. I had hair down to my bum when i was younger, despite my mams begging i got it cut to shoulder length around 10 years old i think. I now regret it massively as my hair has never grown past about armpit level since!
3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Coral cheek. Its my go to.
4. If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I would probably split it and buy half and half, but if i had to choose it would be makeup.
5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
Eyeliner as lipstick.
6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
Sephora. I would rather have a choice of different brands.
7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One eyeshadow colour.
8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Here in the UK they are pretty much the same thing!! Winter clothes in summer for me though as i am always freezing! Although i hate being too hot aswell so its a hard choice.
9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Bright Nails.
10. Would you rather give up your favourite lip colour or favourite eye product?
Eye product. There is no way i could be parted from my Illamasqua Lipsticks!
11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or messy bun?
Messy Bun.
12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Never use lipgloss. I very rarely use it anyways. I can't stand the stickiness!
13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie them in!!
14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Live without nail polish.

Nail Of the Week 2

This week i have used a normal nail polish to paint my nails. After i took my gel polish off i realised i didn't have any nail cleanser or base coat left. When i use normal nail polish, i always start with the Models Own Rubberized Base Coat. I don't normally use a top coat as it makes no difference whatsoever to the length of time polish stays on my nails, usually i'm lucky if i get to 24 hours chip free! I have tried many different top coats and had the same problem with them all so to me it's a waste of time.

This week i have gone for Avon Nailwear Pro +. I cannot find a shade name for this polish and can't seem to find this shade on the website either. I love the Avon Nailwear Pro + polishes. They are one of the only polishes where i can get a couple of days wear before getting any chips. This could easily last a good few days, possibly even a week on someone with normal nails, so i would highly recommend to try one if you haven't already.

TOP 5 DRUGSTORE - Pink/Nude Lips

I am bringing you the second post in my Top 5 series and today we are looking at pink/nude lipsticks. I am obsessed with nude lipsticks and they are my go to everyday choice, as well as choosing them when i have a smokey eye too. Here i share with you my top 5 drugstore nude/pink lipsticks.
L-R Essence long lasting lipstick 07, Maybelline colorsensational 725, Rimmel colour rush balm 100, Avon ultra colour lipstick in pout, B.sheer conditioning lipstick 017.

Essence Long Lasting Lipstick in 07 Natural Beauty £2.30

Essence is a brand that is quite new to the UK and as far as i can tell is only stocked in Wilko's at the moment. This is the perfect 'your lips but better' colour. It is lovely and creamy and feels really moisturising on the lips. For only £2.30 i would definitely recommend picking up one of these lipsticks. You can find this lipstick here.

Maybelline Colorsensational in 725 Tantalizing Taupe £.6.99

This is probably my most used lipstick. I never want to be without it! It is the perfect nude and i am in love with it. The Maybelline colorsensational lipsticks are some of my fave drugstore lipsticks. They are lovely and moisturising and they last for ages too. You can find this lipstick here.

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in 100 Give Me A Cuddle £5.99

Probably my fave lip crayon type products. The Rimmel Colour Rush Balms are gorgeous. They are incredibly creamy and soft and they smell amazing too. Give Me A Cuddle is a perfect pink shade that looks great with any make up style. Watch out for another of these in my brights top 5 next week. You can find this product here.

Avon Ultra Colour Lipstick In Pout £7.50

As i mentioned in my TOP 5 DRUGSTORE - reds post i really like these Avon lipsticks. This is another gorgeous pink shade that would work with any make up look. These are slightly more expensive than some of the others but they always have different deals on so you may be able to pick up a bargain. Find this lipstick here.

B. Sheer Conditioning Lipstick in 017 Petal

I couldn't find these on superdrugs website and the colours they had remaining were reduced to 10p so maybe they are being discontinued so i won't talk much about them. B. is Superdrugs own make up brand and i have really enjoyed all the products i have tried from them and would definitely recommend giving them a try.

My Favourite Smoothie Recipies

I'm a sucker for a good smoothie and 99% of the time its my breakfast of choice. I love experimenting with different flavors so i thought i would share my top 3 with you. I nearly always use coconut milk when i am making smoothies although if its a green smoothie i will use water. Most of the fruit i use is frozen so it makes it super cold too. Liquid measurements are just rough, i usually end up adding extra water to all my smoothies after they have been blended. My memory card decided it didn't want to work and i have lost all the photos i took, apologies for that.

Pineapple, Mango and Coconut Milk

100g Frozen Pineapple
100g Mango
250ml Coconut Milk

This is my favourite smoothie ever. It tastes like a Pinacolada, what's not to like?! This one will be perfect in the summer!

Spinach, Banana and Blueberry Smoothie

Big handful of Spinach
1 1/2 Bananas
A Handful of Frozen Blueberries
250ml Water

Another fave of mine.  The banana works amazingly at taking away that grassy taste that you sometimes get when adding spinach to your smoothies. Make sure you blend the spinach and water together first to get rid of any lumps before adding the fruit and blending again.

Kiwi, Avacado, Cucumber, Mango and Kale Green Smoothie

1 Kiwi
1/2 Avacado
1/4 Cucumber
100g Frozen Mango
Handful of Kale
250ml Water

I love how creamy the Avacado makes this smoothie. I usually have this smoothie after i've been to the gym or out for a run. Again make sure you blend the Kale first so there is no nasty lumps.

What is your fave smoothie?

Nail Of The Week 1

I have decided to share with you every Wednesday my nail of the week. 99% of the time this will be a gel polish as some of you may know I am training to be a nail technician, so have started to buy supplies of gel polish for when I qualify and get my business up and running.

I also like to experiment with nail art sometimes too.

You will not have to mind the state of my nails at the moment, I usually have acrylics but I have decided to try and grow my own. Unfortunately for me I suffer with weak nails. They snap super easy, probably from years of biting and picking them.

This week I have used my gel polish. The brand i have used is called Crystal G and i used the colours, Coral Breeze(G5) with Silk Dust(G4) on my ring finger. I also have a collection of Gelish polishes but i am finding myself reaching for my Crystal G polishes much more, i just find it lasts better on me.

What nails are you sporting at the moment?

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara First Impressions and Review

First off i would like to apologize for the quality of the photos of my eyes. Turns out it is rather difficult to photograph your eyes! Especially when i'm still not 100% used to the settings for this camera. Apart from the eye photos i hope you have noticed an improvement in the quality of my images over the last few posts. They are still not as good as i would like them but they are getting there slowly as i get used to the different settings.

When i found out that Benefit were including a sample of the new mascara in Elle magazine i knew i had to get my hands on a copy. I am a huge fan of the They're Real Mascara, so trying this out was a must for me.

As i have mentioned previously my lashes are super straight and short so this mascara is aimed at people like me. It promises to add plenty of curl and the formula is supposed to help set the lashes in place for 12 hours. The way the brush is made is designed to lift and curl the lashes. It has tiny strategically placed hooks that grab the lashes right from the root and give them a little tug creating the gorgeous curl. I couldn't get a clear enough image of the brush so i have inserted Benefit's diagram of the brush.

I really like this mascara and it does make my lashes look great. The photos i have taken don't really do it justice and it looks so much better in real life. I will definitely be picking up a full size mascara when they are released in March. Truthfully i would probably be inclined to pick this one up over my They're Real simply because im lazy when it comes to removing make up and this one is super easy to remove. The only thing i found with this is it did smudge slightly under my eye throughout the day but it held the curl unbelievably well.

No mascara

Two coats of Roller Lash Mascara on one eye only

As you can see it makes a big difference and i would recommend getting a copy of Elle magazine and giving it a try.

Have you tried it yet? What are your thoughts?

Mini Lush Haul Febuary 2015

My Lush goodies from Christmas were starting to run low so i decided it was time to place an order! I ordered online for the first time ever, as i usually go into the store. Apart from on of the bath bombs being broke when it arrived (more on that shortly) i was super impressed with the delivery. I ordered a couple of bits from the valentines collection and a couple from the permanent collection and also a little goodie for the kids.

Love Locket Bath Bomb £6.95

This is the one that arrived broken but as you can see it is designed to be broken up anyways as there is a little mini bath bomb inside and i nearly always half my bath bombs anyways so it didn't bother me in the slightest. I am super pleased i ordered it when i did as it now appears to be sold out online. This has an amazing smell, it is a sweet smell but also quite flowery. It definitely has a strong scent so if your not a one for strong scents i wouldn't recommend it. This bath bomb contains vanilla, jasmine and neroli oil.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar £3.25

I am a massive fan of bubble bars and they are my favourite Lush products. For the price you get so much for your money as you only do need a tiny bit to make tons of bubbles. The Unicorn Horn is another product exclusive to the valentines collection. Contains neroli oil, ylang ylang oil and lavender oil. The lavender scent is super strong in this bubble bar so i can imagine it is going to be super relaxing before bed.

Butterball Bath Bomb £2.65

This would be perfect for those of you that don't really like heavily scented products. Its got a gorgeous light scent and smells like cocoa butter, which is one of the main ingredients in this bath bomb. It is also amazing for dry skin as the cocoa butter means it is super nourishing to the skin. This bath bomb contains cocoa butter and ylang ylang oil.

The Comforter Bubble Bar £4.75

My ultimate favourite and one i always recommend to people. This bubble bar is super long lasting and i know some people say you can get up to 6 baths out of it but personally i probably get double that. As i mentioned before a little really does go along way with these bubble bars. I think this smells just like Ribena or blackcurrant sweets. This bubble bar contains bergamot oil, cassis absolute and cypress oil.

Ickle Baby Bot Bath Bomb £1.95

My kids adore this bath bomb and the fact it turns the bath a slight blue colour means they find it fascinating. This bath bomb is suitable for children from six months old. It contains lavender oil, chamomile blue oil and sandalwood oil making it perfect for soothing the kids before bedtime.

I'm already deciding what to try next so any recommendations will be appreciated. I have noticed the new mothers day range online today so watch out for a haul of them coming soon. Whats your favourite Lush product?
