What I Ate This Week #2 - Slimming World

I had a 1lb gain last week! I really need to get my head in to gear and stick to the plan from now on. We have just booked a holiday abroad for April next year and i would really like to have lost a total of at least 3 stone by then. I worked out that if i lose 2lb a week between now and when i go on holiday i could lose a total of 4 and a half stone!! That is massive motivation and something i would love to achieve but i know life gets in the way at times and a gain or staying the same is going to happen, so i'm setting 3 stone as a more realistic target and anything over that is a bonus!
I have found it really easy to stick to plan this week as i just seem to have no appetite at all for some reason, i have struggled having my syns due to this though so hoping it doesn't affect my weight loss too much. I've also been quite bad with my water intake the last few weeks so i have started to make sure i always have a 1.5L bottle full of water in the fridge and making sure i drink all of that during the day, along with any other drinks i may have. Also since discovering the Twining's Salted Caramel Green Tea i have rekindled my love of green tea. I have also rejoined the gym this week!

I didn't get to weigh in this week as I had no one to watch the kids for me as my partner had took the oldest to watch the football. I weighed myself on the Wii and it was showing a loss of 1lb.

L.A Girl Glazed Lip Paint Review

I picked up three of the L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paint shades in my recent haul. (Post here
I had heard a lot about these before picking them up so i was really looking forward to giving them a try. I also heard they are a dupe for the Too Faced Melted, although i don't own any of them (yet!) so can't compare the two. I love the colours and really want to pick up a few more. Apologies that the lip swatch pictures aren't the best. I'm still trying to find the best way to photograph them. If any bloggers have any tips please let me know.
 L-R Peony, Hot Mess, Flirt
They are extremely messy to apply! The first time i tried to apply them straight from the tube. It was a total disaster and i ended up with them all over my face! I have found the best way to apply them is using a lip brush, i also use a liner before applying as well to stop it sliding around when it has been applied. You can apply a thin coat for a lighter colour or a thicker coat for a more dramatic colour.

L-R Peony, Hot Mess, Flirt

I find they last a good few hours on the lips. They are very glossy when first applied but i find they dry down to a matte finish after an hour or so but the colour stays on the lips giving you another couple of hours before needing to reapply.

 Hot Mess

I would recommend giving these a try if you get the chance. These are £4.00 each and available in the UK from

Have you tried any of these? Have you also tried the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks? Do you think they are a dupe? I'm looking to pick a few of the Too Faced ones up so will let you know what i think when i get round to it.

Nicka K Polish Swatches And Review

I was kindly sent these nail polishes and asked to do a swatch post by I was sent three shades, these are NY110 Pastel Green, NY107 Rosy Pink and NY129 Brunette.
The first thing i noticed when they arrived in the post, was the gorgeous packaging. The colours i was sent are perfect shades for me too. The opacity of them changes from shade to shade and the only one that i couldn't get opaque was the Rosy Pink, however this would be a perfect colour for doing a french manicure. The polishes apply smoothly and the brush is the perfect size and shape making it easy to apply. Apologies if the application looks messy. My nails are awful at the moment.
 NY129 Brunette

The most opaque out of them all. I applied two coats of this but you could easily get away with applying one coat of this polish. I can see me getting a lot of use out of this during the Autumn/Winter as it's nothing like any other colour i own.
NY110 Pastel Green

I applied three coats of this colour but that isn't a problem for me as i expect to need an extra coat when using lighter colours. This is a gorgeous colour that will be perfect for spring and summer.
NY107 Rosy Pink
I applied four coats of this colour but this is as opaque as i managed to get it. You could wear this as a really natural sheer wash of colour or you could use it as part of a french manicure.
I'm really impressed with the polishes overall and will certainly pick up some more shades of these. You can purchase these polishes at and they are £4.95 each.

Mini Kiko Haul

I have just got back from a week away at the Center Parcs at Sherwood Forest. On the tuesday we went into Nottingham to have a wander round the shops and one of the first shops i spotted was Kiko. I have never tried anything from Kiko, but have wanted to for a while. As far as i know there is no store near me and as they had an up to 70% off sale, i thought it was the perfect time to give them a try. I picked up four things.
Long Lasting Shadow Stick In 17 and 01

  Lipstick In 913
Mosaic Blush In Hypnotic Mauve

I really want to buy some more stuff from Kiko. Have you tried anything? What would you recommend?

Phillip Kingsley Swimcap Review

Knowing i was going to be going swimming everyday while we were away, i knew i had to find something to try and help protect my hair. I have spent so long trying to get my hair in decent condition after years of it being bleached and dropping out after having my children, i didn't want to ruin my hard work with swimming. Swimcap claims to protect the hair from discolouration and damage caused by the sun, chlorine, salt water and wind. It is also super conditioning.

I am a big lover of Phillip Kingsley products so i had high hopes for this. It didn't disappoint. The application is very similar to the Elasticizer. Put onto damp hair then brush through to make sure it's distributed evenly. It has quite a thick texture but is easy to apply to the hair.

This is going to be my hair summer staple from now on. Usually after i have been swimming and washed my hair i really struggle to get a brush through it after and need to use a ton of detangler, however after using this and washing my hair, my brush just glided through my hair. No detangler needed. It was also super shiny and felt amazingly soft.

Phillip Kingsley Swimcap is £22.00 for 150ML and you can buy it here.
